Participation in such activities involves inherent risks, including injury or death.

Grabs LLC is not liable for injuries or damages arising from improper use or failure to follow product guidelines.

Magnet Disclaimer:

Our products contain strong magnets, intended solely for attaching the wrist strap to the ski pole.

Strong magnets can damage credit cards, key cards, and other magnetic strip cards by erasing data, rendering them unusable. They may interfere with pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, insulin pumps, and other medical devices, posing serious health risks. Magnets can disrupt or damage electronics (e.g., smartphones, hard drives, displays), magnetic media (e.g., tapes, floppy disks), watches, and precision instruments like compasses. Keep magnets away from children, as swallowing magnets can cause severe injury or death, and strong magnets may pinch or cause bruises. Improper handling may attract metal debris, posing injury risks, or violate shipping regulations. Store magnets securely, at least 6–12 inches from sensitive devices and medical implants. Misuse voids warranty and is at the user’s own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and trademarks on grabs.no are owned by Grabs or licensed to Grabs.

Copying or reuse without written consent is prohibited.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Norwegian law:

  • Grabs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Total liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the product involved.
Mandatory statutory consumer rights are not affected.

10. Privacy

Your personal data is processed in accordance with the Grabs Privacy Policy and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Supervisory authority: Datatilsynet (Norwegian Data Protection Authority).

Magnetic Release System

The Grabs MagCap is a convenience and performance feature — not a certified safety release device.

It has not been tested or certified to any DIN, ISO, EN, or other safety binding standard. Do not rely on the MagCap as your sole protection in a fall. Ski poles — regardless of brand or release system — can and do cause injury.

Release behavior varies based on:

  • User body weight, strength, and grip
  • Speed, direction, and angle of impact
  • Snow conditions, terrain, and temperature
  • How the strap is worn and adjusted

Grabs makes no guarantee that the MagCap will release in any specific fall, impact, or entanglement scenario.

⚠ Important — Younger & Lighter Skiers

The MagCap is calibrated for general adult use. Lighter skiers — particularly children and adolescents under approx. 40 kg (88 lbs / ~6.3 stone) — may experience proportionally higher retention forces. Parents, guardians, and coaches should assess suitability before use.

Not sure? Email us at support@grabs.no — we'd rather talk it through than have anyone get hurt.

Your contractual relationship is with the entity from which you purchased or received the product.

Grabs products contain powerful neodymium magnets. These warnings apply regardless of where you purchased or use the product:

  • Medical devices: Keep at least 15 cm (6 in) from pacemakers, ICDs, insulin pumps, cochlear implants, and other active medical implants. Interference can pose life-threatening risks. Consult your physician before use if you have any implanted medical device.
  • Electronics & cards: Can damage smartphones, hard drives, displays, credit cards, bank cards, hotel keys, transit cards, and RFID passports. Store Grabs components away from these items.
  • Children & ingestion: Swallowed magnets can cause life-threatening internal injuries requiring emergency surgery. Keep loose magnet components away from small children at all times.
  • Pinch hazard: Magnets attract with significant force. Approach metal surfaces and other magnets slowly to avoid pinching skin or fingers.
  • Transport: Magnetic products may be subject to IATA, ICAO, and national postal regulations during air transport. Follow applicable shipping regulations in your jurisdiction.

Skiing, freeskiing, ski touring, trekking, and related outdoor activities are inherently dangerous. They carry risks of serious injury, permanent disability, or death. No equipment — including Grabs products — eliminates these risks.

By purchasing, assembling, or using any Grabs product, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand and voluntarily accept the inherent risks of your activity.
  • You accept full responsibility for assessing whether this product is appropriate for your skill level, body weight, and intended use.
  • You have read and understood the assembly instructions and safety information.
  • You will inspect all components before each use and discontinue use if anything appears damaged or defective.
  • If providing Grabs products to a minor or dependent, you accept these responsibilities on their behalf.
EU / EEA / Norway: This does not limit your mandatory consumer protection rights under the EU Consumer Sales Directive (2019/771), the Product Liability Directive (85/374/EEC), the Norwegian Consumer Purchase Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven), or any other applicable mandatory law. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Improper assembly or use may result in equipment failure, damage, or injury. Before your first use:

  • Watch the assembly video and follow all instructions provided with the product.
  • Ensure threaded handle connections are fully seated and hand-tightened until secure.
  • Verify the MagCap is properly attached and the strap correctly adjusted to your wrist.
  • Test the release by pulling the strap away from the pole — confirm it detaches cleanly.
  • Re-check all connections periodically, especially in cold conditions or after falls.
  • Use only the pole length appropriate for your height and activity.

The Grabs system is modular by design — that's the whole point. But only genuine Grabs components are engineered, tested, and warranted to work together.

If you 3D-print your own handle, duct-tape a MagCap to a bamboo pole, or attach our strap to a broomstick and send it off a kicker — we respect the creative energy, truly. But the warranty and any liability coverage leave the chat the moment non-Grabs components enter the equation. Use official parts. Your wrists will thank you.

Grabs accepts no responsibility for injury, damage, or failure resulting from:

  • Use of non-genuine, counterfeit, or third-party components
  • Modifications, alterations, reverse engineering, or unauthorized repairs
  • Use of Grabs components with non-Grabs poles or accessories
  • Any use beyond the intended purpose (skiing, freeskiing, touring, trekking)
  • Failure to follow assembly instructions or safety guidelines

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Grabs and its officers, directors, employees, agents, co-inventors, affiliates, distribution partners, and retailers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use Grabs products.

Total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the specific product giving rise to the claim.

EU / EEA / Norway: Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for defective products under the Product Liability Directive, or for any rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law, including the Norwegian Marketing Control Act and Consumer Purchase Act.

United States: Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages. In such states, the above applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Other jurisdictions: Where local law provides mandatory consumer protections that cannot be contractually excluded, those rights remain unaffected.

In the event of a product safety concern or recall, Grabs will publish notices on our websites (grabscompany.com and grabs.no) and notify affected customers via email where records permit.

We comply with applicable product safety notification requirements, including those of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the EU Safety Gate / RAPEX system, and the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet).
